Still Image Forensics Analysis

Metadata is the analysis of information captured along side the image. The information can explain many details about the picture, such as date and time the image was taken, the camera brand and specific model used to create the photo, operating system of the device at the time the picture was taken, settings of the camera and lens, resolution of the image, GPS location, and even more.

This data can be helpful in analyzing the image evidence. Knowing the metadata can help reproduce scenes with similar conditions in order to test similar situations and take new images.
